Bald HeadislandDon’t you just love Sundays?  I do!  The day when you can take it easy, walk on the beach or through the neighborhood, take a yoga class, go to church and just enjoy the day.  It took me a long time to learn how to rest, enjoy and take a little time out for myself to rejuvenate!

My Sunday routine:

  1. Pray, for the well being of my family, friends and those in need and ask for guidance on how I can touch or make the world a better place (basically, what I am praying for is don’t lose your cool and flip out on someone 🙂 still have not master this but getting better at it 🙂 ). Today was no different!
  2.  Bikram Yoga, 8:30 am class, complete the 26 postures without dashing out of the hot room(102 degrees). Thank goodness for coconut water!
  3. Church,  dash to make the 10:45 am church service.

Mum – Today I arrived late at church.  I noticed there was a message on my phone from my 84 Mum (really proud of her that she calls the US easily from the UK) I could tell from the voice message she was in need of some encouragement and support.  I called her back and in my adult voice tried to encourage her and support her, I don’t think she realized that I was crying at times, so tough to help a parent from a distance. However, we ended the call and I believe she felt better!  (we will see).

Dave  – I was so late  for church, “you’ve missed the sermon, Bail? No! you can drop off your offering check and sit in the lobby and listen to the remainder of the sermon.”  OK!  Made it, grabbed a cup of coffee sat at a table in the church lobby where I met Dave (76) who had lost his wife 2 years ago.  Oh, how he missed her.  We talked a while, his tears shed and I could tell he was lonely.  We passed email information, and I promised to keep in touch.  (I will).

Lunch – Starving hungry now, I headed to get a salad with salmon;  sat next to two young men who were discussing, new jobs, introverts, extroverts and life.  Oh dear, it just happened that this young man was about to start work at my company, D—.  Oh, geez! unfortunately overhearing their conversation thought their take on the world was a little amiss, so should I say something?  (eerh?   Nope!) My strategy was to write a note on my business card, leave it for them and say welcome to your new job and , D— “call me if I can help you with anything.”   Problem was I got found out!  He saw my business card, and came bouncing over to me.  Yes, he was definitely and extrovert!  After 30 minutes of dialogue with him I found another new friend!

Sundays! Don’t you just love them!  I do!
