I have been intrigued by the series “Last Tango in Halifax”   so fascinating to connect with these British characters.  I have been a binge watcher, falling in love with all of the characters in this series, their connected nuiasances of  being stuck in time and tradition, not knowing how to  move forward, in addition to being being closed minded, or Stoic?   I had to google the word Stoic, “One who has a stiff upper lip displays fortitude in the face of adversity, or exercises great self-restraint in the expression of emotion. The phrase is most commonly heard as part of the idiom “keep a stiff upper lip”, and has traditionally been used to describe an attribute of British people in remaining resolute and unemotional in the face of adversity. A sign of weakness is trembling of the upper lip, hence the saying keep a stiff upper lip. When a person’s upper lip begins to tremble, it is one of the first signs that the person is scared or shaken by experiencing deep emotion.”   What a burden!  Let’s dump stoicism and speak from our hearts, revealing our thoughts and mind for transparency of how we feel and think (even in the midst of not being traditionally acccepted, character, Gillian).  My favorite character perhaps is Caroline,  (Gillian no more) .  Caroline, “she’s determined, she is, afterall her, mother’s daughter and gains the strength  perspective to carry on”  Check this series out “Last Tango in Halifax”  Let’s dump being stoic.  #Whispersinmyheart
