Week Eight
“Lent”
It’s hard to believe that February is nearly over, week eight of 2012. An important day happened this week, Ashe Wednesday, or the first day of Lent which fell on February 22nd. In biblicial terms it is the period when Jesus went into the desert for 40 days where he was tempted by Satan before his ministry. For those who partake in this belief it is a time of fasting and repenting for 40 days ending on Good Friday, the begining of Easter celebrations. I have on many occassions participated in Lent from a child giving up Polo mints to now giving up red wine (I should say alcohol but as I only drink red wine its the same thing to me, right?). I thought this would be a breeze until Friday nite came, and it’s official I’ve already blown it and it makes me sick that I couldnt say no at dinner to a glass of wine. Ugh! No discipline! So, forgiven and back on the horse with a more determined attitude to fulfil my commitment for Lent. It was a remarkable week Following are 10 of my favorite moments:
1) Buying a new green kettle that has a funky whistle for my kitchen.
2) Learning about different loose teas and buying a diffuser. Enjoying hot green tea and rosemary.
3) Buying new Yankee Candles, Sea and Sand, that make my little house smell magnificient.
4) Receiving a beautiful artistic card from my daughter and fiance, “Save The Date”
5) Laughing again with my Mum on our weekly telephone call, about her plans for her 80th birthday and Paul the “tile guy” Poor dude! I think my Mum, even at 80, knows whats she wants and how quickly one should complete a job. Obviously, Paul the “tile guy” didnt meet my Mum’s expectations.
6) Learning about Ageism….and the importance of good sleep, food, exercise and to detox.
7) Making another commitment to stop HRT and look for natural alternatives.
8 Being proud of my Amway bizness as the new “OWN IT” campaign materials and products for the Spring were launched.
9) New Hope Nation! A place where people, teach, reach, release and find favor. Hearing a story about a young woman just out of prison who came to New Hope to find a place of acceptance. A young woman who had no transportation when she entered the church but left with a check from a person who offered to buy her a car.
10) Gratitude for Ryan Brooks; Glad I finished my fourth book, Born to be Rich” *****; Glad I didnt watch all of the movie, The Caller.
You did it girlfriend! 🙂
