Week Four
“The Potter’s Gift”
I watched several movies this week, “Horrible Bosses” need I say more? and “Hang Over II” lesser said the better! Funny movies for sure; I giggled at the actors, and stupidness of their actions and have justified my time watching, in my opinion, garbage. (I am feeling a little guilty about spending my time watching this content now – it’s kind of too late tho.) But, what stirred me the most this week was a caption/video I watched about a Potter spinning his clay (now I say his clay, but it could have been a woman a Potter’ess?) The theme of this caption/video was transformation. The video started with the Potter kneading the raw clay, then spining the clay on the Potter’s wheel into a beautiful dish, then into the kiln, then painted and glazed. The final product was a beautiful creation, an artist’s unique dish. What a transformation, a blob of clay turned into a beautiful, unique dish. The blob of clay reminded me of how we transform our lifes. With that being said here are the 10 happiest, rememberable things of my week:
1) This posting on facebook from my daughter: “Your brother is your first male friend in life. No one will ever understand your craziness like your brother. Even if you don’t get together, or talk as much as you’d like, he always remains your friend. While people come and go in your life, your brother will always be in your heart for a lifetime.”
2) A funny joke I heard from Paul Miller. “An elderly man one nite was stopped by the Police. He was asked what are you doing out so late Sir? The elderly Gentleman said, I am on my way to a lecture about drinking too much alcohol, smoking and staying out so late. The Police officer said, really? seriously Sir, now who is giving this lecture? The elderly Gentleman said, my wife.
3) My six (6) mile Saturday run on the American Tobacco Trial with my girlfriends (and MTD), to include the coffee after the run a delicious soy, cafe laite. The foamy, creamy topping on my coffee was just like eating ice cream (and when you are on a diet you make the most of every treat).
4) Refining my Mantra.
5) Finding breathing space and quiet time.
6) This was not a happy moment, but a necessary one – telling someone to “shut up”
7) The verse “consider thine own ways” Y’up let’s get over telling someone else how to shape up.
8 Creating a daily “Happy Journal” What made me the happiest today?
9) Casey B’s insight into Detriot – the beautiful buildings are standing empty.
10) A reminder to stop the bleeding of my time — and say no to things I dont want to do or be a part of, surround my self with a “No” shield.
You did it girlfriend! 🙂
p.s. I saw Jupiter tonite pair up with the moon! Clear skies here in North Carolina
