Week Three
“The Bucket List”
I think most of us have watched the movie the “Bucket List” with Jack Nicholson and Morgan Freeman, two terminally ill men escape from a cancer ward and head off on a road trip with a wish list of to-dos before they die. So the question posed is, why do we wait till we are older or terminally ill to create a “Bucket List?” Shouldnt we every day be working on our “Bucket List” /our passions. As I reflected on this question I thought of my week and 10 things that I am going to change /focus on for my “Daily Bucket List (DBL).”
1) In the body, mind, and spirit DBL: To remember always that my body is my temple. Kick the sugar baby! By putting healthy, nutritional food into the body (yuk, I cant eat red meat anymore, after reading the book “Skinny Bitch”) to exercise more (lazy bleep) get off your bleep by thinking you are a runner and a Yogi because you go to the hot Bikram Yoga studio once or twice a week and run 20 odd miles a week. To feed my mind by reading more! get the light bulbs on sweetheart and read those intellectual, self-discovery/learning books (ooowh, how I want those piano lessons so I can play, Paul McCartney’s, The long and Winding Road…. Lastly, the Spirit, (isnt this the most important one for the DBL?) some folks call it religion or a deity. I chose my God, in 1984 to feed my spirit, (feed it daily girlfriend!) to energize my live and to follow the words of my favorite Poet, “If I can lift one Robin into it’s nest again then I have not lived my life in vain” Go Emily!
2) To get off my serious’ness and pretend I have the sexiest, youthful body alive and strut down the catwalk… I hear that song.. “I am too sexy for my…. I need to buy some spikey heels and visit Victoria Secrets!
3) Back to my seriousness – to be GOOD. (G et O ut O f D ebt)
4) To know what the dash will mean on my tombstone, Julie Margaret Randle Born 195’something – until? What will I be remembered for? What’s my dash? – – – – ?
5) To be forgiven for my stupid, bleep mistakes, and my run-away mouth
6) To listen more
7) To forgive more
8 To become a good wife, better mom, sister and daughter.
9) To give more — I heard and hear $10% – – and not expect to receive.
10) To Live Life everyday as if it was my last day. I hear you Dad!
You did it girlfriend! 🙂
