Week Eighteen

Reading, Five books and Bright Lights!

The month of May is around the corner and the cold weather in North Carolina is behind us.   I planted my veggie garden and cant wait to taste those, plump, juicy, tomatoes!  I remember speaking with a Master Gardener at the ideal home show, last week, who gave me a great tip this year, wait to plant your veggie plants and annual flowers until after 15April as we expect no more frosts after this date. So I waited and planted….Yes!  During the colder months I read like crazy.  Following are some of the books I read and my thoughts about reading:

1) Get off your Attitude;   jmrGrade 5/10   (I remember, leave your baggage at the station (I try too!)

2)  Today Matters;   jmrGrade 7/10   (I remember, debt will make you unhappy (It does!)

 3) Jumpstart your Motivation;   jmrGrade 5/10   (I remember readers are Leaders :-))

4) Make Yourself Unforgetable;   jmrGrade 5/10   (Class and Confidence,(Authenticity)

5) The Sheep Thief;   jmrGrade 6/10   (You become what you value” + the parable of the ST (luved it)

6) These five books were fair, non-fiction/self-development books, some of the content I had read before,  regardless I always  keep an open mind and learn more.  Nothing really stuck out for me tho, so I continually search for good books to read!  did I hear, readers are leaders?

7) I also pulled a few old books from my library and read a few snipets from them, Ask and you are Given, Poems of the  Underground! I love going back to my favorite books;  they ground me.

) Its funny tho as I continue to read and read, out of all the books I have read,  my favorite book and the most meaning full book I have ever read is the Bible.  I always go back to it.  It is a history/poetry/literature/ family/ teaching /values / parenting book and is full of rightnwrong, compassion, empathy,  goodness and is always on the best selling book year after year.

9) I give thanks to my Grandfather Randle who introduced me to this book.  He gave my mum and dad a wedding gift, a tiny little black book that seemed to end up in my bedroom? Yes, it was a little black bible and 0wwwh it was so hard to read and understand back then.  Thirty or so years passed and I read  that book, backn’front, and ended up reading and studying that book more than no other. Strange or?

10) So, it is obvious, I love to read!  I thought that was because I am an introvert, but maybe not as reading has also taught me many extrovert skills ( I think?)  So, I try and encourage others to read too.   I remember saying to my children, please read!  it will turn on so many lights for you in your heads;  my son replied it’s so bright in my head already that I dont think it can get any brighter… (he must have already been enlightened 🙂  Yet, my son and daughter continue to  read — yeha!   Do you read?
