As always meaningful memories were made and revisited. Every day was filled with fun, from walks across the beautiful warwickshire countryside fields, nodding to the sheep and cows, to visiting pub restaurants for lunch, farm shops and grocery shops, with the finale attending a beautiful Randle wedding at Peckforton Castle

It was good to get away from routine, daily habits, see new scenery and rejuvenate (get away from the hussle, bussle, busyness) and create a new perspective (laugh more, live more, be grateful more) on life’s gifts.

Here are a few of my favorite vacation memories:

Travelling with my daughter (she had not been to England in 10 years). Catching up with her brother and his wife at the wedding venue which gave them an opportunity to reconnect with their grandma (my 87 year old mum), who gifted them both with “lucky”owl ornaments.

The beauty of the English countryside and the tiny village cottages with thatched roofs.

Remembering how to drive on the leftside of the road, although I did get confused about the round-abouts and a few traffic signs?

The pub luncheons, the friendly pubs.

The full English breakfast (eggs, bacon, tomatoes, black pudding, sausages, mushrooms, etc)

The friendly English people, and staff at all of our hotels

and of course seeing my family, old and new.

It was a vacation to remember! I can’t wait to go back and explore further, maybe adding Wales, and Ireland to the adventure! #whispersinmyheart

The book traces the development of Gothic architecture and the fortunes of the Kingsbridge priory and village. The book lies on a bedside table at our beach cottage with hope that someone will pick up this book, relax, and read at the beach. It’s a Gem!

I write about this book today because I was sent a beautiful picture of my home castle, Warwick Castle, built 1098 today approx 20 miles or so from my home village, in a Love Great Britain face book post. Happy memories of so much history, beautiful architecture and castles
